Prior to the start of MLG Columbus speculation was flying around that Loaded.Black would not place as high as they have in the past. The main reason, the RMP comp was not nearly as strong as it once was and they were the only team running it. Predictions were made, and not many people were picking Loaded.Black to move out of the group stage. However, on Saturday orangemarmalade and company proved the naysayers wrong as they played some outstanding matches blowing past most of the competition. At the end of the day they are sitting atop the Group A standings with a perfect 5-0 record. Lets take a look back and recap the second day of MLG.
In the first match of the day, Loaded.Black faced off against the local team Furreal. In what would end up being a blow-out, Loaded cleaned up the best of five series in a matter of minutes. Orangemarmalade forgot to properly gem his gear, but it would not hurt him as Loaded win easily 3-0.
Next up would be the beastcleave of Complexity.Black in one of the most anticipated matches of the day. Both teams drew large crowds behind them and the players did not disappoint. After Loaded won the first game easily, Complexity came back strong to win the next two games by a narrow margin. With their LAN experience, Loaded, were not fazed and came back to win the next two games to win the series 3-2.
The third team would be none other than Skill-Capped Central featuring former EG star Zyz, making his return to the MLG circuit. The RLS team would be in for a tough series against the Koreans. Skilled-Capped would try to focus on orangemarmalade in all three matches, but were never able to take him down. After making perfect swaps and forcing Nevershock to use his cool downs early in the game, Loaded outlasted Skill-Capped and won the series 3-0.
The final match of the day would be SK-Gaming, another RLS team with a different play style. Loaded would end up having the perfect strategy to take down SK. During one of the matches, numberone, Loaded's priest ended up putting out more damage than both of the DPS players from SK-Gaming. With a few close calls, Loaded ended up winning all three games and take it 3-0.
