Loaded @ CIC7 Day 1 Recap

Well the first day came to an end with Loaded sitting at 2-1 so far in the group stage. Loaded's group was scheduled to begin playing in the late evening, but tournament delays pushed that time back even later and it was well past midnight when the first matches began. Czech Republic

Power Gaming lived up to the hype and took the first match defeating Loaded, but Loaded would bounce back and take the last two matches of the day against Netherlands

After not playing for three days, starting off on mp_citystreets and playing against the top rated European team Czech Republic Power Gaming was not exactly an ideal beginning. The first half saw Loaded defending, which is generally considered the stronger side of the map, but Power Gaming took advantage of Loaded's very aggressive defense winning the first three rounds and steamrolling into half leading 8-4. Needing a monster offensive side Loaded began the second half in much better fashion than the first, taking three of the first five rounds but in the end Czech Republic Power Gaming would prevail 13-5.

Next up was Netherlands MouseFX on the map mp_crash. Loaded wasted no time with MouseFX jumping out to an early 6-2 lead in route to a dominating 10-2 first half. The second half saw MouseFX trying to change the momentum and stringing a few rounds together but Loaded proved to be too strong and cruised easily to a 13-5 victory. The last match of the day came against Poland GFO Gaming also on mp_crash. The first half was about as close as can be, with both teams exchanging rounds and ending tied 6-6. In the second half, Loaded simply overpowered Poland GFO Gaming taking the first three rounds and overall seven out of eight in route to the 13-7 victory.

The group stage continues early Saturday where Loaded will play the final two matches starting at 7:00am CST. The top teams from each of the eight groups will advance to the sixteen team best of three playoff round, and Loaded is in control of their own destiny. It's real simple, win both or go home. Assuming Czech Republic Power Gaming does not get upset, it is likely that the Loaded vs Netherlands MCA match will determine the second team to advance from Group G.
