After a long career I can finally say I have done it all. When I first traveled to New York for a lan I was so excited. Getting to meet the people behind the keyboard is probably one of the best things about a lan. That and the competition. But now I can honestly say that I have reached the highest Plato in gaming. The fact that I am able to say I have traveled clear across the globe to play video games is amazing.

My trip started at 10am Eastern on Tuesday. I traveled from my home town by train to New York City. There I caught a bus to JFK. After about a 3 hour wait (I was extremely early because I wanted to make sure I made it through customs) I finally was able to board my plane. Six hours later I arrived in Amsterdam. I was actually pretty stoked at how great the flight was. It might have been the whine I drank but I'm pretty sure International flights aren't that bad.

After an hour in Amsterdam International I met up with Freytag and his Fiance Stacey. Both were extremely nice, Stacey especially. I don't know how she puts up with Brandon! We all boarded yet another bus that took us to our plane and we were en route to Hanover. Now after traveling to Europe the last thing I wanted to do was get on another plane. But this was a City Hopper and the flight was only 40 minutes.

After we touched down in Hanover the adventure began. We exited our plane and went to the baggage claim where we.... well claimed our baggage. Then we made our way around the airport attempting to find train / taxi information for the remainder of our trip. We decided that we might as well just find our way to CeBIT because once there we could ask a Local how to make it to Enschede.

The trip to CeBIT was an interesting one. We met an interesting German man who drove us to the Convention Center. He was impressed that I had come from New York to attend CeBIT and also that I was a video game player. But mostly he wanted to discuss how great German Cars, Highways and People were. Gotta give it up for someone that loves their country right?

After our quick trip on the Autobahn (get it?) we arrived at CeBIT. Brandon went into the center to try and locate some thermaltake execs so we could get our tickets. Brandon emerged and told us the plans. We got to go inside and check our luggage with the staff at the event (which was awesome cause lugging around 6 days clothes all day was getting to be aggravating) and get our tickets. We met Joshua from Thermaltake who had to run our tickets clear across the convention center to us and did it with a smile. He was excited to hear we were from America and came just to see the new Thermaltake Products.

Now for those of you who don't know what CeBIT is all I can tell you is that its exactly like CES but ten times bigger. I mean this place is massive. So many areas you can go. They were holding the Intel ESL there as well and we got to see some familiar faces (coL, EG, ect). Anyway I'm getting off track. Joshua walked us to the Thermaltake Booth and there we were introduced to Allan pretty much one of the nicest guys ever. We were treated like kings. I got to test out all of the new Tt-eSports gear which I have to say is probably some of the best gaming equipment I have ever used and I can't wait to get my hands on some.

Brandon did some wheeling and dealing with the higher ups and I walked around a bit. I saw a lot of cool products that are going to be released this year along with some awesome things I have never heard of. I visited the big and small booths like XFX, Saphire, Enermax, Dragoncases, Killer and tons more. I have to say the event was amazing and I wish we had more time to hang out but we had to catch a train.

This is where the trip got nuts. Between finding trains and Brandon asking every person if they spoke English I have to say the greater city of Hanover probably hates us. We caught a metro train to the main train station in Hanover. Onboard we met a drunk that attempted to pickpocket me but was thwarted by my security guard skills! After about a 20 minute ride which seemed like forever because we were standing by the doors with like 5 bags blocking people from leaving / getting on we got to the station. We got off the train and Brandon led the way (BIG MISTAKE). He took us through the entire station only to find out that we had already been where we needed to be. Long story short we had like a ten minute walk that was not needed.

But in the end we got on the right train. After about two hours we arrived at another station hopped trains again and finally got to Enschede. Brandon had already called a cab cause we were all beat. After a 2 second cab ride we made it to our hotel. I was so relieved to be able to put down my bags. We were all a little hungry so we grabbed a meal and I gotta say the food was great.

All in all it was a great trip. My teammates actually just showed up so I'm going to head out of here. We start playing tomorrow wish us luck!

I loved going to AEF & TEX in 2008 with Pandemic, there really is nothing like traveling across the world for eSports.
